It's the same for either version, CC or 6. They are the same program and it is the way it is registered that makes them CC or 6.
YES YES YES. Skip Win 10 for now.
So, what's confusing me is that when I attempted to install one, it said I needed CC Desktop to be installed. I have it installed (tho' I don't know what it's really for), but still can't seem to figure out how to install the plugin. Can you give more specific steps (or point me to instructions)?
What is the plugin, where did you get it, what does it do???
Open LR go to File then Plugin Manager then click the Add button.
The plugin is here: https://creative.adobe.com/addons/patches/3060#.Vc5dSvlVhBe
It's called "Wooden Background"
When I click "Add" in the Plugin Manager, it asks for a folder and says I must specify a folder with lrplugin as the extension. This background, when downloaded, is in my Downloads folder and is called: "Woodenbackground_1_0_0.zxp" - no .lrplugin extension, no folder at all, just a file.
I did a search for lrplugin on my computer. There are some folders with .lrplugin at the end of the folder name (all having to do with camera plugins that are apparently part of the default LR program). There are some FILES (not folders) with that extension, too (for example, Flickr.lrplugin). These are all either in C:\Program Files\Adobe or in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom. All the ones I found also show up in my Plugin Manager as installed (which I would expect).
I also tried renaming the extension of the downloaded plugin to lrplugin and moving it to the Adobe Lightroom folder where the others were. That showed up in my Manage Plugins list, but was red and said it was malfunctioning. Then I tried creating a folder named "Wooden_Background.lrplugin" and putting the file there (with it's original .zpx extension) and it didn't work either (same result).
What am I missing?
It an Adobe compressed file. It has to be expanded using the Extension Manager.
Although it states it is compatible with LR I can seem to install it. It did install into PS CC 2015 but not LR.
