I use Lightroom 4.4 on Mac OSX Yosemite and i have a problem importing my .arw files from my sony rx100iii. After the Installation i saw the previews of the raw files, after selecting import i got the error message "unsupportet format", and now i cannot even see the previews. and the import still doaesnt work, althought adobe says the camera is supported. And ideas? i got a workaround by converting the files in the .dng format, but i dont want to do that, cuz its takes much more time and also the dng files are large than the arw files... Help please! Thanx in advance and greetings from germany!
Your camera needs LR5 (5.7.1 is the last update for LR5) but it's best to get LR6 as earlier versions are no longer supported by Adobe. You can buy from the following link. After clicking "Buy" change from Full to Upgrade; then select your existing LR product from the drop-down menu and the correct pricing will be displayed. Then simply choose “Add to Cart”
Or you can take a 30 day free trial via the Creative Cloud to test what’s new (some new features are only available to CC subscribers) and after the trial it’s possible to convert the CC version to the LR6 stand-alone version, upon purchase of a serial number and without any further installation. In either case make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
