From the outset, working with cameras fugifilm I suffer with the speed of import, export and download images.
I recently compared the rate of the RAF import files from my fujifilm X-T1 and Canon 5d mk3.
400 photos fujifilm imported 8.5 minutes, while the photos with canon imported less than 1 minute.
This is the same difference in the images are downloaded to the processing and export.
Is it going to finally work with optimaze RAF files to an acceptable level?
Too much loss of time on the processes that should take the least amount of time.
Testing was conducted on the same MacBook Pro 15 "retina (i7 2 GHz, 8GB RAM, SSD)
Are the cards in a card reader or do you connect the camera to the computer?
RAF files from the newer Fuji cameras are somewhere around 33MB. 400 x 33MB = 13200MB of images and if you divide that by the amount of seconds in 8.5 minutes you come up with 25MB a second transfer speed. I'd have to say that is an above normal rate for file transfer from either the camera directly or from a card reader, depending on the speed of the card you are using.
Not sure how the Canon images can be gotten in around a minute. If the Canon files are anywhere near the size of the Fuji files you would be in the area of hundreds of MB a second transfer rate.
I mean importing LR to library from SSD. I don't use LR for importing images on SSD
