Immediately after I start the Lightroom non-cloud version 6 installer on a Mac Pro (3,1 model / early 2008 / OS X 10.9.5), I see a message box "We've encountered the following issues: Installer failed to initialise. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem". However "The adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued". How else can I try to diagnose the problem?
Since the same installation file installs fine on my Macbook Pro (8,2 / early 2011 / OS X 10.9.5), I guess the reason may be the Mac Pro's graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT). Can someone confirm, this is the problem? Safe this graphics card, the Mac Pro definitely has all the required resources for running LR 6: 8 cores, 12 GB RAM, 600 GB available disk space.
After further research into the problem, erasing all Adobe components from my System, and finally installing a different video card (ATI Radeon HD 5870), I've finally given up trying. After reinstallation of the OS, LR6 installation finally succeeded.
