Syncing the folders may have caused more harm than good....
In the Folders panel, are any of the folders marked as missing "?" ? If yes, fix this first.
After that, in the Library grid, are any of the pictures marked as missing "!" ?
Unfortunately it doesn't show any of those ? or !. The main folder shows 0 and then I can go all the way into the sub folders and find some images there.....I was thinking about removing and adding the project folder again. My main concern is losing all my edits which has happened to me before. Maybe I need to save edits as an xmp or something else. I'm not sure if syncing diid anything bad considering that was the last thing I tried before entering to forum.
Thank you for the help
Yes, syncing probably did more harm than good. It is just another way of deleting and importing, which is exactly what you did not want to do during the investigation.
If you go to the menu /file/open-recent, any chance you just ended up opening a new/empty catalog and your old catalog is still there?
My catalog is still there. I can even see the images if I go into the smallest folder meaning....Lightroom/models/sarah/2015/February/12th If i go all the way in I can access the files in lightroom but it still shows a zero count on "models" for example and I see no preview under models. I did the open recent and I'm still accessing the catalog I use normally. I have all the images just lightroom isn't sorting them correctly...or something
OK, easy fix.
From the Library module, in the menu /Library/show photos in subfolders/
Awesome!!!!!!! What a silly function...unless I'm misunderstanding the benefits?
Sometimes you want to see just what is in the current folder and not include the subfolders.
Sometimes you want to see everything where you are at and what is below you.
Part of it will come from your organization process. Personally, I do not mix images and subfolders in the same folder. As soon as I add a subfolder, I add more as needed to put all the images in that folder into a subfolder.
