Once you import a file into your project, you need to give the program a moment or two to conform the file. (You can watch the progress in the lower right of the program.) Editing before the program has conformed the file can result in missing audio.
Usually this process only takes a couple of moments. But for longer clips or a multiple batch of clips, it can take a little longer. Be patient.
Hi, thanks for your answer. I tried it and waited 5 minutes to be sure (the video is 16 minutes long), but unfurtunately the sound dissapears at the exact same spot.
I tried to create a new project in Premier Element 11 - using the file - and everything works fine
I tried to create a new project in Premier Element 13 - using the same file - and suddenly the sound dissapears at the exact same spot every time.....
That should not be happening, Nina. If you start a new project and you import the video into it and wait for it to conform, you should not lose the audio.
Are you seeing a waveform for the audio on your timeline where the audio cuts off or does it suddenly go blank?
Hi, I think you were right!!
I'm a "trial and error" person - not very technical, but stubborn
When changing name on the file and then importing it again in a new project......and waiting as you said it worked!!!!
It's like the filename was saved, even if I started a new project - but using an old file that I had used in another project before (and not being patient enough) - can this be possible?
Or why did it work when I changed name......
Anyway now it works. Thanks a lot!!
Whatever the reason, I'm just glad to hear it worked, Nina! Please mark this question as answered.
