how do I replace LR6 with cc?

    W C Walker

I bought the stand-alone version of LR 6.  I want to switch to LR CC, but the creative cloud says my copy is up to date.  One of the help strings said to hit HELP>Deactivate, but this choice does not appear on the help menu.  Only HELP>Sign Out is available.  Do I need to uninstall?

To run both stand-alone and CC versions you would need to create another Adobe ID (second account) otherwise uninstall LR6, then sign-out of Creative cloud. Re-boot your computer and sign-in again to CC. Then go to the Apps tab and wait a short while for everything to refresh.

LR 6 and LR CC are the same program, it just responds differently to the local licensing environment, so you shouldn't need to uninstall.

Presumably you've paid for a Photography Plan CC subscription for $120 billed $10/month and that shows as a current subscription for your Adobe ID on adobe.com Manage Account.

If so then sign out of LR 6, reboot, and sign into LR 6 with the Adobe ID associated with your subscription.

Have you done all this and it's still LR 6?  How are you judging that it's LR 6?  Use Help / System Info to see what version and license are reported.

Thanks for the answer.  It finally showed up as cc after signing out and back in.  I used the presence of the haze filter as the indicator of cc vs 6.
