HI all. Sorry - I know this has probably already been covered, but I've read conflicting articles and statements across the web. I have Adobe Ligtroom 5.x installed on my Windows 7 pc and have just bought the new Nikon D720 (after much saving!!), upgrading from the D90. I, like many others, are not able to open my RAW images in Lightroom. Some folks are suggesting playing around with the image data in order to get LR to recognise it - others are suggesting upgrading LR to LR 6 is the only way to go. Does ACR have D7200 support?
I'm happy to buy LR6 if it solves the problem but don't want to if I can avoid it!
You need LR6 unless you want to convert NEF to DNG. You can buy from the following link. After clicking "Buy" change from Full to Upgrade; then select your existing LR product from the drop-down menu and the correct pricing will be displayed. Then simply choose “Add to Cart”
Or you can take a 30 day free trial via the Creative Cloud to test what’s new (some new features are only available to CC subscribers) and after the trial it’s possible to convert the CC version to the LR6 stand-alone version, upon purchase of a serial number and without any further installation. In either case make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
