I am working with an editor on FCP7. She is cutting a movie that is DV NTSC. (720x480) I am trying to give her Apple Pro Res movies because in the end she plan to up-res a version for viewing. Because of the .91 pixels in SD I am having problems figuring out what dimensions I should make my Comps so that they have a 4:3 ratio in her timeline.
Personally I would use the NTSC DV square pixel preset for my comps. You could either drop your finished comps in a standard DV comp (720 x 480) or just render the square pixel pump and Final Cut will automatically take care of the pixel aspect ratio differences and frame size differences.
Thank You, I will try that right now.
