The performance gain would be very significant for After Effects. Go for it!
Premiere Pro (this forum) isn't really helped much when RAM is updated past 32GB, but After Effects uses RAM for previews and can even beg for more than 64GB on the beefiest systems.
Okay, good to hear. I'm still open to hear other people's recommendations if they've had specific experiences that they'd like to share, but I'll see what I can do. Hopefully I can get 64GB on here for no added cost. It all comes down to persuasion now.
If it's just a question of 32 GB vs. 64 GB RAM, you really don't need to ask the question.

Yeah, but I'm specifically interested in where I will see the performance gains; for example, will it just be longer RAM previews? What about faster RAM previews? More CPU usage for some effects? etc. Which of these kinds of things am I going to see increase in performance?
