Do you get any error message or error code when this program crashes?
Does it crashes while using any specific feature or just crashes abruptly out of nowhere?

Have you tried to disable the GPU support?
Please make sure you have Up to date Graphics drivers installed.
Also try Disabling use of Graphics Processor from Edit>>Preferences>>Performance>> uncheck "Use graphics Processor"
If it doesn't let you uncheck the option then
Go to C:\Users\Your ursername\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences
Note:-Appdata is an hidden Folder.(make sure you have hidden files and folder unchecked in
Right click the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs, open this file in a text editor.
close to the end there is a line that says useAutoBahn = true,
Change this to useAutoBahn = false,
Save the file and close it
Then start Lightroom
Let us know if that helps
I too have had this problem running Lightroom 6.1.1 on Windows 10. Application crashes on importing a file. Your workaround has resolved the problem. So far, no issues with importing.
Thanks for the great advice. I did try to turn off the "use graphics process" already but as you suggested it wouldn't let me. So the advice about useAutoBahn was perfect.
This has been annoying me for weeks but now seems to be fixed with your advice. I strongly advice anyone else who has also upgraded to Windows 10 and getting a similar issue to give this a try.
Hi, I am having the same problem with LR crashing. I was able to uncheck the "use graphic processor" and restarted my laptop, but it's still crashing. Please help! Thanks,
Thanks for reaching out. Please take a look at the linked article https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.htmlAdobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ and let us know is that helps. As mentioned in the solution above, you'll have to disable Lightroom usage of Graphics driver in Preferences. Steps are mentioned in the link above.
