Please open Lightroom(make sure you are signed in)
Click on the Identity Plate
And Pause "Sync with Lightroom mobile"
Or Right-click on the Identity Plate, and select "Lightroom" instead of "Lightroom Mobile"

Thank you very much for your quick response, Akash.
While I was waiting, I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it. It resolved the issue but it still needs me to be logged in to be able to use the software. If I log out I'm not allowed to use the software again. Again, I'm using Lightroom 6, not CC.
In addition, I believe that Lightroom 6 does not have the mobile feature. Why does it show up on my identity plate? How do I remove that and the "trial expired" message from the identity plate? Frankly, thus far, I have never looked elsewhere for an alternative to Lightroom. This feature is annoying me and have started to look at Capture One Pro. I like Lightroom and I hope Adobe can stay away from annoying its loyal customers for an extra buck.
Thank you very much for your help.
The Sign in/out Showing up under Help>>Sign In is to Activate or Deactivate the Product. However it is Verified by your Serial number.
The Lightroom mobile feature is not available with Lightroom 6 but It is available for you to try(30 days).
As Suggested Did you selected the Pull down menu from Identity plate to pause "Sync with Lightroom Mobile"?
Right Clicked on Identity Plate and selected "Lightroom" to see if "Lightroom Trial Expired" is gone.
Thanks for Posting on Adobe Forums
I understand that the Help>>Sign In is to Activate or Deactivate the product. I have activated the product using the Serial Number assigned to me. However, after activation if I sign out, I'm not able to open Lightroom 6 again. When I try to open it, the Adobe Application Manager opens up prompting me to Sign In. I cannot proceed further without signing in. If I click the close window button, the option is to either quit or sign in. Now, once I sign in, I have to enter my serial number every time I log out. I really do not see why I have to be signed in to use the software.
With respect to the identity plate, I have done exactly as you had mentioned and it doesn't work. I clicked on the identity plate, paused Sync with Lightroom mobile, right-clicked on the identity plate and selected Lightroom. And the screenshots below shows what I see.
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Your Identity Plate now says Lightroom 6 not LR Mobile Expired, anymore. That’s what you want, right?
LR 6 enforces the licensing on two computers by making you sign in. Don’t sign out.
