    the future for FW

    migo33
I saw only one post regarding my question but as i do not even see FW on the "products" list drop down menu on this web site I wonder what is the future for this great product. I would like to get an answer directly from Adobe but who ever I talk too didn't have an answer.
I have been trying vigorously to work with Image Ready but the more I work with IT the more it looks like a bad extension for Photoshop that should NOT have been gone to web production in the first place.
So, will Adobe be smart enough to let Image Ready rest in peace or are we going to see FW slowly fading away?

      thanks

Happily for all of us, Adobe has announced that they will continue the
          development of Fireworks.

But remember, they are a company that answers to their stock holders and not
their customers, so at any time, if they thought FW was unprofitable, then
they'd drop it like a hot potatoe.

Macromedia listened to their customers. Whether Adobe does remains to be
                    seen.

                      Thanks guys,

I do remember having good costumer service from Macromedia even though their products started to be clunky over the last recent years (except maybe Flash). I do hope though that Adobe, a monopoly now, will do some re-ordering of their massive product line and get away as fast as they can from a "Microsoft syndrome" which is producing half-baked products and convincing the world that they are the best and easiest thing one can get (remember the boy that shouted "Wolff Wolff"?)...

                          They do!?

To be fair, individual developers at Adobe do. MM did as well.

But they don't get to decide the future of applications, unfortunately.

                                Hi Linda!

It’s cool to know that Adobe won’t stop developing Fireworks. With all respect, ImageReady it’s really poor compared against Fireworks. I hope that they´ll take the right decision.

Do you think that they’ll integrate both of them (Fireworks and ImageReady) into a new version of ImageReady? Do they be smart enough to finally send ImageReady into he belongs (the trash can or the oblivion). They have the same problem with Freehand and GoLive, you known; witch can’t compete against Illustrator or Dreamweaver (in my personal point of view of course).

Anyway, I´m glad to read that news and congrats, I´m a projectseven huge fan.

It's a mistake to compare Fireworks with Image Ready. Fireworks is a
complete, standalone, image creation package. IR is basically a
Photoshop extension. You won't know anything about the future of IR
until ADobe announces. Anything else will just be rumor.
