I downloaded Adobe Premier Elements 13 a few days ago and every time I open Premier I get an error message saying “Adobe Premiere Elements.exe – No Disk ----There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive\Device\Harddisk5\DR5”. This message goes away if I press continue enough times but it is annoying. I am new to Elements but it seems to work OK. How do I resolve this problem.
This is a known Premiere Elements 13/13.1 issue. The Adobe solution is to delete or disable the OldFilm.AEX file.
In Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 64 bit, the path to that file is
Local Disk C
Adobe Premiere Elements 13
and in the NewBlue Folder is the OldFilm.AEX file that you delete or disable by renaming it specifically to OldFilmAEXOLD.
Please let us know if that worked for you.
Add on...have you update 13 to 13.1 yet using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates? On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements running? In my reply, I have assumed Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 64 bit.
Thanks for the reply, but there was no message in the reply.
Please try again as your schedule permits.
