What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running? For that matter, is your program Premiere Elements (video editor) or something else?
Right now your thread is posted in the Adobe Premiere Elements Forum (video editing)?
Where is the downloading and zipping taking place?
Please supply more information about what program you are using and all details so that we can decide what next and/or the appropriate Adobe Forum to receive your thread question.
Premier elements 11 and I am running the new windows.
Pictures that are saved as zip files are saved to my pictures folder and documents that are saved as adobe docs are saved to my documents folder.
I didn't realize I posted to the wrong forum, this is the first time I have done this and wasn't sure what I was doing!
Thanks for the reply.
Are you saying that your program is Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 10 64 bit?
If you have a Premiere Elements question you are indeed in the correct forum. But, I did not recognize the connection between what you were asking and Premiere Elements.
Please clarify further so that I can try to find the solution for you.
1. Given you are downloading photos and documents. What downloader are you using and how do you access it? From the Elements Organzier that comes with Premiere Elements or other?
2. Right now I am understanding that you are getting zip folders for your picture downloads and pdf files for your documents downloads. Is that correct?
it gets saved as an adobe zip file for pictures and adobe acrobt document for documents
I will try to answer the questions the best I can, I am not very tech savy. I have Adobe Acrobat XL software / Adobe Premier Elements 11. I have microsoft home and student 2013, I had Windows 8, 64 bit and upgraded to windows 10 recently. My probelms began before the update. I know you will think I am crazy, but I prefer using AOL for my internet browser, I like how it organizes my mail. I am not sure if that answers your question about the downloader I am using? I dont purposefully use the elements organizer from premier elements. I am not sure if somehow my computer is using that as a default? Yes, I am gettin the adobe zip and adobe pdf files automaitically when I download, but I will also get that same file as a jpeg and word document simutaneously. I don't want two of the same files (different formats), when I try to dlete the adobe version, it will not let me delete it and will have to keep trying, eventually it will delete. The other thing the adobe program has been doing is, when I open certain adobe files, I will get an error message that says "monitor profile Dell "gives a #) color profile D65" appears defective. Rerun monitor calibration software. The gives two choises, ignore profile or use anyway. It doesn't matter which I choose, the file won't open.
Thanks for the reply with lots of information for your issue.
I still have not figured out what program you start with to trigger these downloads. I have been exploring AOL Desktop and Adobe Acrobat XL to look for mention of download which will automatically give you zip and pdf files. Could you clarify...when you decide you want to download a picture, from where are you downloading the picture (from emails or other), what program you are in when you start the download which is going to end up in your computer's Pictures or Documents? Could it be that your computer was sold with a special utility software for doing the downloads to zip and pdf?
For your other question...Premiere Elements does not support certain color profiles, such as CMYK and certain others. The color profile of your pictures may not be supported. Please see the following as background information on this
However, from your description, it sounds like your monitor color profile is related rather than Premiere Elements support related. Can you contact Dell about the monitor color profile part unless you are OK working through Dell monitor color managements issues?
But, please see if we can zero in on the initial download situation. I do not believe that this situation has anything to do with Premiere Elements or its Elements Organizer, but I want to make sure that I am not overlooking a vital detail in your follow ups. The key to all this is going to be in the details of those downloads.
