Problem running abode flash player

My problem is when I try to play an adobe flash player online stream. The sound is fine, but the image massively skips frames (the video jumps from 5 to 5 seconds, practically I only see a single frame each 5-6 seconds). Sometimes if the movie is large, the flash player stops and I receive a non-responding program message. When I play flash games, there is no problem at all. I tried to stop the "hardware acceleration" function, to use the flash player without protected mode, re-install mozila firefox and/or adobe flash player, but nothing helped.

I'm using mozila firefox browser version 40.0.2, adobe flash player version 18.0 under Windows 8.1 64bits. My machine is a Toshiba Satellite laptop with intel i7 core and 12Gb of memory. The video on board is nvidia geforce gt740m and the directx version is 11.

Please, any suggestion is more than appreciated. Thanks.
