I setup my character and every thing works fine except I am not happy with the noodle arm puppet pin. Is there any way to add starch to character. or change the position of the bend?
I am going to do some more experimenting, but does the origin matter on an elbow and wrist?
You can try adding shape layers to the arm sub-puppet to establish stationary points. Name each layer "Fixed" and use the pen tool to set the stationary points location.
You'd have to play around with it to get exactly the motion you want, but here is a screen cap of a left arm with two stationary points that allow the hand to pivot at the wrist, while the rest of the arm stays stationary. In this example the fixed points are at the shoulder and wrist.
Another way to control bending is to add thickness to the arm -- thinner parts bend more easily. The added thickness needs to be at least 13% opacity, otherwise it will be ignored by the mesh.
Stay tuned: we're working on more direct ways to control which parts are rigid.
