How do I enable flash audio for an AD user profile?

  • Operating system version = Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit version)
  • Web browser and version = Internet Explorer 10
  • Flash Player Version = Flash Player 18
  • Explain your problem in step-by-step detail if possible:

We have a user who has no audio associated with any flash videos on her machine.

Her sound works perfectly when using any other program that plays audio (e.g. Windows Media Player, or Windows Default sounds on-click etc.)

I've tried un-installing and re-installing Flash, clearing cache, switching default audio devices from speakers to headphones and back again, as well as 2-3 other troubleshooting tricks, but nothing seems to fix the flash audio.

If I log off this user's Active Directory account and log-in as a local Administrator, the sound on flash videos works perfect, so it's some kind of setting in her user profile that's disabling the flash audio.

Any suggestions or help you can give would be greatly appreciated, because I've spend over 2 hours trying to figure this out already.

Thanks,

Ryan
