We have 4 Macs (Yosemite 10.10.5) and they all have the same problem with Acrobat Pro X (updated).
We need to use the Read out loud functionnality to check our PDF for accessibility.
I updated the voices with the OS X Voice Over Utility, I tried multiple PDFs, multiple computers but I can't have Read out loud to actually read the page or the whole document. If I click on a word, I can hear it but nothing happens when I select "Read this page" or "Read whole document".
I read on some forums that disabling steins under Security and Security (Enhanced) could solve the problem but it doesn't work in our case. !
Thanks for your help.

May I suggest trying the free Acrobat plugin pdfGoHTML from Callas Software, as an alternative to Read Out Loud for accessibility checking? pdfGoHTML is intended for accessibility checking. Read Out Loud is not, and will miss many problems.
