Do these photos have lots of brushing or spot healing?
No, this is opening the file just from the dng with no alterations or syncing at all.
SImply hangs, the 85 virtual copies took almost 10 minutes to create vs about 30 seconds in Lightroom 5.7
Have you turned off the Facial Recognition feature?
No I haven't, is that a default setting for ON?
Remember I only just uploaded yesterday.
I am curious if it has to do with synching to mobile?
it would seem there is some kind of "buffer" or cache that gets filled up in LR, it's made worse by the GPU thing as well as all the mobile stuff.
Facial Recognition- paused
Address Lookup- paused
There is a noticeable increase in speed............UNTIL after the third or fourth image is selected in the Develop module.
Once that threshold is crossed, and again, I have a tricked out machine, then the program slows to a numbing halt.
Going to try and take a video to show what I'm talking about
attached is a video (with sports radio playing in the background) of how long it took to open 4 Images one at a time in the develop module
sync is off
face recogniton is off
address lookup is off
gpu acceleration is off
AAhh crap can't directly attach video without a YouTube thing, that's more time than I have time to do
summation is the 4th image selected took 20 seconds to render in the develop module, as if a buffer was filled.
BTW- I purged the image cache before I tried this
lame lightroom, LAME
long story short, I cannot use LR CC to edit images IT requires an extra 10-12 hours of time
Could not post video because I need some kind of youtube situation, that's more hoops to jump through
Apparently after three or four images of very basic post production the "buffer" fills and the 4th or 5th image bogs down the machine and the loading wheel comes on.
Takes a minimum of 20 seconds to render.
Long story short, I will not be able to use Lightroom CC to edit wedding images or anything else as it will most likely add another 10-16 hours of editing time.
I do hope you get it fixed soon
