I have a Macbook Air, and I have Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.7.1 installed. I have the Camera Raw 9 package installed, and while I can open my Nikon D5500 was pictures in photoshop, I can not open them in Lightroom. When I see the "file handling" compatibility section within the Lightroom preferences, I see "Camera Raw 7.1 and later" as the most recent setting available. Why I am not able to use the Camera Raw 9 package on Lightroom? How do I solve it?
Thanks a lot !!
Camera Raw is a plug-in for Photoshop. Lightroom is an application that uses the Camera Raw processing pipeline but not the ACR plug-in. The only way to get those images into Lightroom is either update to the current LR 6 or CC 2015 or convert the raw files to DNG.
Please find below the link for DNG Converter 9.1.1.
You can download and install the DNG Converter and convert your unsupported raw images to DNG, so that you can import them in the existing version of Lightroom.
