    Simple question

    Level 7
      Ok, I'm new to fireworks.....

Can anyone tell me how I can accomoplish this task:

I have a box, about 20px wide, 20px high, that I would like to split into to
      colors, diagnonaly.

How can I do this? Also, is there a way I can fill in the colors with codes
from my database when the image is live on my web server? Or is that asking
      to much?? :)

      Thanks!

          Hi,

I would use the pen tool for this.

I'd use the box as a guide and draw out a triangle on top of it with the pen
(on a shape as small as this I would also zoom to about 400% or as big as
you have room for. Hold down the Shift key to get perfect horizontal,
          vertical and 45 degree angles

Once you have your triangle, duplicate it (Ctrl+Alt+D). Fill with your
          desired color.
Modify>Transform>Rotate180. Then slide it into place using the arrow keys.
Select both halves holding down the Shift key and Modify>Group (Ctrl+G).

You can delete the 20x20 box you used as a guide.

I'm not even going to try to answer part 2 of your question. Sorry.

          Peter

:-) Yes, the pen tool does take a bit of practice. Should be easy with
              straight lines though.

              Try the knife tool.

Again zoom to as big as you have room for.

Make sure your box is selected. (click on it)

Place the knife just above one of the corners, and with the shift key held
down slice diagonally through the square.
Click outside your square to deselect it. You should now have two halves
which you can fill with different colours.
When finished, select both halves (holding down the shift key) and Ctrl+G to
group them so you can move it around as a single object.
