    Cannot install Adobe Flash Player

I recently purchased a new CPU, originally loaded with Windows 8 that has been upgraded to Windows 10.  I have downloaded and installed Firefox, I prefer it to the IE Edge that is installed with Windows 10.  Each time I try to install the flash player it makes it to about 30% and then gives "connection error."  Nothing else, just those two words.  I have gone through all of the "recommended" steps several times.  Nothing has helped.  I would appreciate a solution if you have one! And, yes, IE Edge has the flash player embedded in it, and it does work in that browser. (Incidentally, I receive the exact same message when I try to install the Adobe Reader, and it does not matter which browser I am using at the time. It also does not matter if I am trying to install the new reader DC, or an earlier version.)
