Could you please check and see if the keywords that are missing , are they missing randomly or are they missing after any particular alphabet.
Tanuj, keywords are saved with the catalog?
Yes, keywords are a part of the catalog .
Well, very recently, I went through all my photos (about ten years) and added keywords for all photos of family, friends and pets. I'm absolutely sure I grabbed the catalogue files and put them on my external drive, and then opened that catalogue after upgrading Windows. I noticed the inconsistency when I searched for photos of our family dog, and the search clearly din't return all the relevant photos. So I tried searching for other recent keywords, and either the same thing happened, or the keywords didn't exist at all.
I'm looking at the catalogue and backup files/folders, and the changed date for the catalogue file is 18 August (which would explain the missing stuff), whereas the Backups and Previews folders were last modified 30 August, which was after I had my long session of tagging.
I cannot rule out idiocy on my part entirely, but I was very confident I brought along the latest version of the catalogue.
I would have your operating system find all .LRCAT files on all of your hard disks, and open each one of them to see if your keywords are there.
Thanks - I've already done that. I've already started re-adding the keywords, so I've pretty much given up on restoring my previous efforts... It's a bit of a concern though, if this sort of thing can happen out of the blue. Is there an option to write keywords etc. into the DNG files where applicable?
