I would like to add also, when I now try and open up CF on any of my other clips (which are separated into modules) and that have two adjustment layers on them both with CF, the top adjustment layer with CF won't open, but the bottom (first one I made) will. The same message comes up after AA is done freezing that say two processors found etc.
This is a known bug that affects, as you discovered, the second and later adjustment layer. There's a deadlock situation that is triggered by some of the changes that Adobe made for 13.5. You should not see this issue on CC 2014 and earlier.
We've found the root cause and are in the process of putting together a new update to Color Finesse which I expect to be released on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Look for the 3.0.14 update.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks for the clear and prompt response Bob.
Good to know its not something I am doing wrong and its something you guys are working on to fix.
We just released the Color Finesse 3.0.14 update which fixes this issue. You can download the update from our website and install with your current serial number.
The update fixes the UI launching issue and contains some other important fixes. Read about the changes in the update Release Notes.
I do also have this issue. When trying to open the full interface I get the message "Unable to start user interface."
I don´t kow when and why. Earlier that day - another comp in the same project - I could open the UI. Still opens in Comp A but not in comp B.
Whoa, now I have the pink grid in every CF
Ehm - Help.
Win 7 CC 2015 CF 3.0.14 (309)
Okay, it seems to be an memory-issue. Every CF on a 5K RAW-image.dng fails. If I do it via adjustment layer it works...
I'm not sure how much memory you have on your system, but increasing the amount reserved for other applications (in AE's memory management settings) might help. That is where the Color Finesse UI gets its memory from.
I tried duplicating this with some 5K-ish .dng files here and it all worked fine. If you have time to pursue this further, can you send a screenshot of your memory settings, the amount of total RAM in your system, and a single .dng file to support "at" synthetic-ap "dot" com? We'd like to see if we can at least generate a more helpful error message than "unable to start UI".
Hm, today I do not get the error messsage but a frozen CF-UI. I´ll send screenshots via e-mail.
It works on an empty clean fresh After Effects file with a 5k dng in a FullHD comp.
With a 5k 16bit comp I get the error again. I´ll send this AE-file.
The same comp in 8bit works...
