Hi Jengle... When you created the handles in Illustrator, did you make them guides (i.e., use the Pen tool to create a single-point path, then right-click above it and choose Make Guides or select it and choose View > Guides > Make Guides)?
Also, are you using Preview 1 or 2?
If it's still not working, can you share a link (via Dropbox, Creative Cloud Files, etc.) to the artwork file? You can send it to me directly if you want to keep it private. Thanks.
ahh! Thanks!!! I forgot to Right-Click & Make Guides.
I'm animating an RV and now the mirrors "Dangle" (go in and out) and the ear rings hanging off the mirrors dangle too! Fantastic fun! Grandkids are going to love this.
this is not working for me- these menu directories do not exist in my drop down. just make guide from shape and when I click that it says it is not available at this time.
Hi Elijah... Are you using Illustrator CC 2015 or some other version? If you create a single point with the Pen tool, then press Ctrl+5 (Win) or Cmd+5 (Mac), does it not convert the layer to a guide (<Guide>)?
Hey! Thanks for response.
I am using cc 2015.
Is there a way to do this in Photoshop?
Sure... In Photoshop, use the Pen tool in Shape mode (not Path mode).
Both of these worked out for me,
It may help to make mention that the pen tool must be in shape mode in this tutorial,
Thanks again for your help!
Thanks for the feedback, Elijah. We do mention Shape tool mode in the Help (Character Animator Help Documents | Adobe Community).
That video was a non-Adobe-created tutorial, but we'll call it out better in future videos.
