Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 (assumed 6 bit)
What is the source of this bmp file, and what are its pixel dimensions and properties? Do you have the problem with any bmp file or just one?
If you open a new project, does the problem exist?
Let us start here and then decide what next based on the details in your reply.
The program itself (Premiere Elements) generates the bmp file when the user selects to create a freezed frame to insert it into the Timeline.
The options selected are these : Tools > Freeze Frame. On the window that appears, the user selects
Export, and then the program generates a bmp file that corresponds to the image currently displayed on the screen. The user can insert this bmp file into any place of the Timeline, by simply dragging the file from the Project Assets folder were it is stored to the Timeline.
The problem occurs for any bmp file created as described above and for any project..
Properties of the bmp files :
File Size : 5.9 MB
Image size : 1920 x 1080
I use Windows 7 Professional, 64 bits.
Please let us do this first
1. If you have not updated 12 to 12.1, please do that. The update is done from an opened project's Help Menu/Updates.
2. Delete the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file found in Windows 7 64 bit...
Local Disk C
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Make sure that you are working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives enabled so that you can see the complete path cited.
3. Depending on the above results....please let us know the result from
a. placing the Timeline Indicator at the place for the freeze frame
b. go to Publish+Share/Computer/Image and export the 1920 x 1080 jpeg freeze frame
c. will that jpeg freeze frame work when imported into the project?
We will be watching for your results as your time permits.
