    Director 4.0

    tone26
Hello, I have a problem. I have an old Director 4.0-project, and I need to open it in the latest version of Director. How do I do? Or do I have to get Director 4.0 to solve the problem? If so, does anyone have Director 4.0 ?

If you get no responses here, you might want to ask on the Direct-L mailing list, there's still a good few Director dinosaurs still hanging out on there :-P

(note, you have to join the list before you can post)

            Hi Tone,

To update from Director 4, you'll need to open the file in Director 6 or 7, resave,
then that file could probably be opened in MX 2004 (depending on the content).
You'll definitely need an inbetween version to update the files.

Are you Mac or PC based? I have trial versions of Director from 7 to current that I
            could supply to you.

If you wnat to email me directly, my email is d.utian@unsw.edu.au.

            regards

Yea you might even have to open and resave in 2 graduated revisions of
director, perhaps director 6 then director 8, it generally seems able to
              open about 2 revisions older.

By the ay you may be able to view the 4.0 file in the current director
as a miaw, in message window wnter open window "myfile.dir"
