Previously Lightroom was really smooth and ran perfectly, while now, when I updated to CC, it's very very slow and laggy. I can barely paint with the adjustment brush, it just skips and jumps while trying to draw smooth strokes.
The library is also slow, the loading part when you open up an image takes forever as well.
Now, I'm not on a low end computer. I have a Intel i7 4790K CPU and 32Gb RAM with a 970 4Gb GTX Geforce so I can't imagine Lightroom CC requiring more than this.
Any idea how to troubleshoot this?
Using lots of adjustment brush or spot healing will cause this problem.
Some things you can do
But since your Library module is slow, I think the best solution is doing all spot healing and brushing in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
I'm not using lots of brushes at all, it's laggy at the first stroke.
But.. turning off GPU acceleration really helped! This kinda boggles me since I have a pretty good GPU but maybe Lightroom wants a different kind of GPU.
Thanks a lot for your help!
GPU acceleration makes brushing and spot healing slower, which is apparently what you are seeing.
