What's your workflow? e.g., "Edit image in Camera Raw > Save Image button."
"edit image in Camera Raw > Save Image"
in "save image" I believe I am in default settings. (This is my first time working with Camera Raw). The settings in the save menu are:
Destination : Save in New Location (my photoshop/camera raw folder)
File Naming: Document Name
Quality: 8 High (8-9)
Color Space: Adobe RGB 1998
Depth: 8 bits/Channel
Image Sizing: Default 17.9 MP
Resolution: 300 pixles
Once I save it in those settings, I open it in my folder and try air dropping them to my phone. The photos are then sent but for some reason they are in their original format and not the edited version. Even when I send the photo to "Photos" on my mac, they do not appear edited.
Do I have to save my photo from Camera Raw differently?
That's odd. Any changes already made should be in the JPEG export. So if you did, say, a vignette in Camera Raw (Effects tab > Post Crop Vignetting), it doesn't show in the export? (Make the vignette obvious so you can tell right away.)
You don't state whether your originals are raw or jpegs, I'm guessing jpegs. When you edit a jpeg in ACR the edits are stored in the metadata section of the file, the actual image is not modified. Re-opening the jpeg in either ACR or Photoshop will result in the edits being visible, but if the original jpeg version is sent to an iPad then the edits will not be visible. Perhaps you're transferring the original jpegs to the iPad, not the Save versions?
Also you should Save out into sRGB for an iPad, otherwise you will see a decrease in saturation, the iPad is much closer to the sRGB colorspace than Adobe 1998.
My originals are in raw. I'll try saving them into sRGB for my phone and maybe that will work?
I tried that and it saved it as its original photo! So the edit does not show in export. The edits are only visible in Camera Raw
May i know are you saving the original file in .dng format or in .CR2 from the camera raw. Can you send the screenshot of the save settings dialogue box from the the camera raw.
Can you check at the location where you are saving the original file is there any .xmp file is getting saved as well
