What version of Premiere Elements and what computer operating system is involved. Based on your description of your source files, it sounds like you are heading for DVD-VIDEO standard 4:3 on DVD disc end product from your video editor.
What do you have on those source DVD discs?
a. Data Disk......exports in a movie format from a video editor....and, if you explore the disc, you will find a bunch of .mov, .avi, or other individual movie files?
b. DVD-VIDEO standard 4:3 on DVD disc.....and, if you explore the disc, you will find at least a VIDEO_TS Folder.
The following is a suggested workflow to explore once we know if we are dealing with a or b.
Please review, consider, and give more details.
I am running Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 and working with DVD-VIDEO standard 4:3 on DVD disc.
The link to PE11 was interesting but PE13 preview screen and markers are not the same. I feel I'm missing something obvious so I can't save scenes to Project Assets.
Thanks for the follow up request for clarification.
The details are exactly the same for 11, 12, and 13 with regard to trimming video in its Preview Windows and then using trim
a. as Timeline content by dragging the trim from the Preview Window to the Timeline
b. as media for Project Assets by dragging the trim from Preview Window into Project Assets...but as mention in the blog post...
if you are in the List View of Project Assets, you just click and drag from Preview Window to Project Assets
if you are in the Grid View of Project Assets, as you hold down the Ctrl key, you click and drag from Preview Window to Project Assets
Please give that another look. If problem persists, I will post some extra screenshots in your thread to demo the Preview Window to Project Assets click and drag.
The "set in", "set out" tools do not appear in my Preview Window.
Ignore the last post. I found that by double clicking the Media File I get the correct preview window.
Okay, now we have two windows, the timeline window and the preview window. After editing a short clip how do I get it from the timeline to the preview window. Thank you for your patience.
