It is fine if you keep your catalog on the external drive, however if you want to move the catalog back to the Mac HD.
Then you may copy the Complete catalog folder and paste it in your internal drive.
Thanks for the response. Been busy but here I am. Are you saying to do this outside of lr 2015 or is the a process w/i the program (lr 2015). I'm a little trepidatious re, moving anything behind lr's back,\.

You can move catalog files to wherever you want (doesn't have to be the pictures folder) by simply moving them in your operating system, and then double-click on them to open them.
This is not to be done in Lightroom, you need to manually go to the location where the catalog is saved and then move it the location on the drive.
Thanks all - The thing that worried me was lr not being able to find the catalogue (rational or not.) The thing I wasn't thinking of opening the catalogue w/ a double click and that will locate it. The main reason I want to bring it back to the mac HD is the drobo is running a lot and it drives me crazy. My drobo is old and loud!
Thanks guys for the help I appreciate it,
