Could you try something here, lets copy the images to the desktop using nthe finder and then try to import the images into the Lightroom.
Please check are you able to import the images then.
The iPhone images imported into PHOTOS through the iPhoto replacement. However, LR shows them and the iPhone, but LR says "the following images were not imported because they could not be read" then it list all the .jpeg files and if you click "save as" they show up as .txt files
The message "could not be read" indicates you do not have WRITE permission on the destination folder. So, here is what you must do
- In the Lightroom Import Dialog box, go to the Destination section on the right and make a note of the folder specified there.
- Change the folder to something else; OR in your operating system, change the permission on that exact folder to WRITE permission.
SUCCESS!!! I created a new sub folder within the regular LR folder for iPhone images and made it read/write for staff and everyone then restarted and designated that new folder and it imported
I fixed it by creating an iPhone sub folder and making it read/write everyone
