because of a very bad backup fail I formated the disk with the last copy of my 10,000 Lightroom source images. With magicrescue I was able to restore all the files, but now they are named by the memory address where they were found. I also have a backup of my Lightroom catalog, but now I'm not able to reconnect the missing source files, because they are all renamed. Is there a possibility to match a folder of source files to the Images in my Lightroom Catalog by other criteria then the file name (maybe the timestamp or a checksum)? Or has anybody an idea how I could match all those renamed files to the edited ones in my catalog?
As far as I know, you'd have to rename the images one by one back to their original names. There is no automated way of doing this.
