Hi There, I've recently created an interactive booklet on Indesign.
I opened the file on my phone today, and some of the buttons I've created don't work... I'm just trying to figure out why they don't.
The buttons I've created to take you to webpages on a "Click".
Now I have created "hyperlinks" on other features in the document, these do work.
Is it just because I've created them as buttons?
Also my colleague open this document on his ipad, but the actual visual "Button" did not show up at all? He recently updated the ipad, could it just be that its not compatible?
I want my document to be usable on all devices...
There are several kinds of interactivity now possible by exporting from InDesign. Are you talking about (1) exporting an interactive PDF, or (2) exporting an EPUB file (Fixed or Reflowable), or (3) using Publish Online.
I suspect you're talking about interactive PDF. Be aware that, especially on mobile devices, not all interactivity features are supported by all PDF readers. This is also true of the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader.
Here's a link to a blog post I wrote 3-1/2 years ago which is still largely true about picking the correct PDF reader for interactivity:
Thank you so much Steve, That blog helps me heaps.
Its a shame that Android and Apple products can't support all the interactive features...
