Hi Mike Naylor
- LR works with RAW files, jpgs and Tiffs. It isn't designed for other formats. As it works on single image.
- Our Engineering team is working on Bridge improvements, If you have any concern regarding it please post it to Bridge forums Bridge.
- Please check the below link to change your Email id associated with Adobe subscription
So, apart from ranting, my question is: Will Adobe add support for GIF and other file types to Lightroom in the near future?
Although I don't work for Adobe, I consider this extremely unlikely. I have heard Adobe people say that Lightroom was designed for a photographers workflow, camera to computer to distribution of the work, and GIFs don't play a role in this workflow.
Thank you for giving an official response so quickly. Of course, I disagree on point 1 for all the obvious reasons that so many have already stated. However, I'm delighted to be assured that improvements to Bridge are in hand. With regard to changing my Adobe ID, I misquoted myself - I intended to say it was not possible to merge two IDs into one. I look forward to discovering if an updated Bridge will suite me better than Lightroom - and hope that it will still be available within my Photography Subscription.
To help you in order to merge two Ids into one, I am moving your thread to another Forum
