Hi, my iMac (late 2012 model) had been running slowly as of late, especially when using Lightroom (LR 4.4), so I did a clean install of Yosemite a couple of days ago and kept most of my storage space empty (currently over 700GB available; RAM memory is 2x 4GB). The computer is now back to speed but not Lightroom; in fact it's gotten even worse: it now takes an average of 10-20 seconds to open up a picture! I shoot RAW but I'm using a D7000 mostly so the files aren't even that large. I've got loads to process and this is driving me absolutely nuts. Please help!
There could be compatibility issues for Lightroom 4.4 on Mac Yosemite which might be resulting in such Performance Issue.
Would suggest you to create a new catalog and import a couple of images to check if its catalog specific.
Hi Chetna, thanks for taking the time to reply! It doesn't seem to be catalog specific: I tried opening a new one and importing there as suggested but it's still super, super slow :-(
You have already done the clean install for the operating system.
So, I would suggest for a machine restart in safe mode and test Lightroom within that.
It could be possibly that there is some third party application interference which is slowing down the response of Lightroom.
