- Please go to the Device Manager of Windows, from there expand Display Adapters.
- Disable the graphic card and then open Lightroom , go to the preferences of Lightroom , then the Performance tab and uncheck the option for " Use Graphics Processor " .
- Close Lightroom and go back to the Device Manager and enable the Display Adapter.
- Open Lightroom and then work in Lightroom and check if it works fine.
Unfortunately, I followed all of the steps in your response, and when I restarted Lightroom I have the same problem when I select a photo in the Library and try to open it in the Develop module.
Do you have any other ideas?
Once , in the Library Module, could you please go to the Preferences, and then the Performance Tab, and see if the option is checked or unchecked,
If it is checked , please uncheck it, and if it is already unchecked please let me know.
I had updated the graphic card driver after I installed Windows 10. I just now reverted back to the previous graphic card driver, and for the moment, Lightroom is working.
I don't know if this solved the problem, or if I will continue having problems with it locking up.
Thanks again Tanuj,
Lightroom CC has been working fine for an hour now.
I would not have found this problem without your help.
I was just about to purchase a new computer because of all the problems I had with this one when I tried to install Windows 10.
Your fix sounds like what I need, but I was hoping you could re-assure me before I try it. I have only one display adapter installed on my computer, if I disable it, won't it stop my access of information through the monitor? I did not want to make my monitor stop working in order to try the fix. Thanks in advance for your response.
Thanks, I had the same result. Disabling the graphics card allowed me to disable the use of the graphics processor in lightroom, then lightroom worked for me.
This is what I ended up doing as well.
