This happens because you have not properly cropped the photo. For example, if you want to print the photo 8x10, you must first crop the photo to an 8x10 aspect ration. If you don't, then you will see the symptoms you describe, that the printer is cutting off part of your photos.

crystale81925204 Sep 27, 2015 12:53 PM (in response to dj_paige)I Took the pictures with my D7000 and downloaded them to lightroom. I did change the color to some and exposure but I didn't crop any pictures. i was thinking it was something in my setting when I export my pictures that changed but I'm so new to all this that I don't know what i did different. Was wondering if someone could tell me what the basice sethings are when exporting to see if that might be it. If that not it what can I do in Lightroom so make sure when they export they can be used in any size pictures without losing part of my picture. Or could it be a camera setting? I haven't had this problem with any of my other pictures taken in the past. Thanks for your help. Crystal

dj_paige Sep 27, 2015 1:00 PM (in response to crystale81925204)Hi, as I said your problem is that you didn't crop the image. If you are printing at a certain size, then you must crop to the exact same aspect ratio (e.g. an 8x10 print requires a crop to 8x10 aspect ratio).
There is no export setting that will fix this issue, only cropping will fix this issue. There is no camera setting that will fix this issue, only cropping will fix this issue.

You may have had prints made in the past that were the "native aspect ratio" of your camera (2:3). This would include 4" x 6", 8" x 12", 16" x 24", and 20" x 30" print sizes. For all other aspect ratios you will need to use LR's Crop tool as dj_paige has advised.
