Please make sure what do you have the Destination Panel set to?
Make sure it is set to a Valid location and you have Read/Write Permissions to the location
Also check you have Read/Write Permission for your Memory card
Make sure Destination panel is expanded when you click import.
Does anyone have the same experience?
Umpteen people - if you were to do a site search for the exact error message, and you'll find hundreds of posts explaining the problem,
In short - it's a write permissions problem with the destination folder/drive. Fix that (in the OS - Mac, right?), and you'll fix the error.
Ok, but how do I do this?
How do I check the read and write permissions and why did it change out of the blue?
I understand what you're telling me to do, I just don't know how to. Would you mind giving me a step by step process? I just bought a MacBook and it's quite hard to navigate. Thanks
If you use your favorite search engine and type in
Change permissions Mac
you will find clear instructions on how to do this with pictures.
I know, it might sound that I'm clueless and I am in terms of lightroom and Mac.
I googled everything, I tried changing every single permission in my computer and all of them say that I have the permission to read and write, still I can't get to import the pictures from the memory card. Here's the image of the issue.
I tried deleting lightroom and re-installing to see if I could fix the issue and it also didn't work. It's been 3 days and so many hours trying to fix it, I guess if I can't passed that I should stop using lightroom, unfortunalety
Copy images to your Desktop from card
Then try importing

Show me a screen capture of the Destination section of the Import Dialog box.
Also, show me a screen capture of your permissions on the folder specified in the Destination section.
