You have stated that the Catalog is corrupt, so may I know what issues are you facing with the catalog.
Are you not able to open the Catalog or are the images not showing properly.
Not able to open the catalog at all
studio: 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave. #203 Chicago, IL. 6062
(by appointment only)
- I would suggest you to move the Catalog from the Macbook to iMac ( Internal Hard Drive ) .
- Then Open Lightroom 6 on iMac and click on File >Open Catalog, and select the location of the copied catalog.
- You should get a prompt to upgrade the catalog.
Please let me know if it helps or not.
I had to leave the macbook back in Poland but before I did that I exported
the catalog onto the same external drive and I do have the external drive
with me now this morning I copied the catalog from external drive to the
iMac unfortunately that did not work either
What is the exact error you see when attempting to open the catalog?
You mention working with both Lightroom 5 and 6. A catalog from Lightroom 6 will not open in Lightroom 5. This is not because the catalog is corrupt but because the file format is not forward compatible. A catalog from Lightroom 5 will open in Lightroom 6 after a conversion, because they are backward compatible. You have to have the same version on both computers in order to allow for work to move from one to the other.
Thank you for the message,
The error I get is that the catalog is corrupt, please repair the catalog
and try again.
I worked on LR5 to edit, I had LR5 on the iMac too.
Then upgraded to LR6
Try creating a new, blank catalog in Lightroom and then import the potentially corrupt catalog via File > Import from Another Catalog.
Will try that Brett, thank you. I didn't try that yet
Will let you know
Thx a million (even if it doesn't work )
