Adobe Typekit Fonts not usable

My adobe typekit fonts will not sync to my CC applications like Illustrator and I am unable to edit them.  The Fonts menu in the CC desktop app won't load and will not let toggle the Synced fonts on and off.  They do however show up as synced in my Creative cloud account in my browser under synced fonts.
