You may not have enough space for the temp file. What OS? Where is the recovery folder?
Mac OS 10.10.4 Just searched for a Recovery folder and don't seem to have one.
I’ll try that, thank you.

Sorry for the late follow up, but did clearing the prefs help you or did it turn out to be something else?
I have tried all of the above, and am STILL having this issue; see screenshot below:
The disk is NOT full, it is a brand new NFS server with 2TB free space!
The problem is intermittent - hard to replicate on demand, but happens regularly throughout the day. This doesn't happen on every mac we have (there are 4 using InDesign), but I'm the only one running El Capitan...could that be the reason?? I get the above error, followed by this:
Sometimes, after re-opening the job, I can't even save the file at all, and have to lose any changes made. Working from the desktop does NOT help either.
I am using Adobe CC 2015 on a Mac Pro desktop, running El Capitan 10.11.4
This has become a big problem. Can anyone help?
I am having the same problem on a new Mac. Hopefully someone will
post a solution.
I still don't know what's causing this - we're actually seeing it less now, but have found that if you restart InDesign and throw away the IDLK file, it works again.
