I have successfully (mostly) created an ePub version of a book I made in InDesign for print. It looks pretty good on iBooks, but when I use Kindle Previewer to convert to .mobi, all the photo images come out the size of thumbnails. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Also need suggestions as to how to keep a photo caption connected to its photo. Group the caption with the jpg?
If you don't know modifying HTML/CSS, the answer is:
You need to learn modify html/css first. Sorry if this might sound hard, but there is hardly a way around.
If you know modifying HTML/CSS:
Q1a. Use custom width in the object export options with meas. units such as "em" or "%".
Q2b. Before converting to mobi, you need to tweak the CSS by removing the "height" or "max-height" attribute from the "img" tag, otherwise the image is scaled at full window height.
Q2: Please take a look at the following tutorial: Megan's eBook Formatting Tips and Services: How to Keep Images and Captions Together in eBooks
Unfortunately, Kindle has still problems with keeping images and captions together. It might not work.
