It did not work. The sign out and signing in yielded the same result. I was on the chat with Adobe support and these were what I tried.
- Uninstall CC desktop app
- Uninstall Lightroom6
- Reboot the computer (Win10)
- Reinstall Lightroom 6.0
At this point all was well and LR launched correctly to the Stand-alone version (i.e. LR6)
Did the update via Help -> Update
Entered the serial number
LR then launched into the CC version. - which is incorrect.
I have reverted back - i.e. uninstall and reinstall LR6.0 and will not try again until the cause and solution is available.
You can download the 6.1.1 patch from this link. Go to the bottom of the blog page and under Installation Instructions click Win.
Hi 99jon, thanks for the info. I tried using the downloaded file to update but the result was the same. I even tried logging in the installation with a different Adobe ID but the result was the updated version became the CC version. I checked the updated version and it has 'dehaze'. The standalone LR6 should not have this feature.
I have reverted to LR6.0. My OS system is Win10.
OK you may need to contact Adobe directly. It seems strange, unless you have somehow created a subscription. Try an on-line chat and ask the agent to check your account status.
Thanks 99jon. I have tried that earlier today and they advised me to reinstall. This did not work. Anyway, I will try again and ask about account status. Cheers.
An update of the issue. Adobe support contacted me and an upgrade via the Help-> Upgrade was done with the support person on remote desktop monitoring. The end result was the same, the start-up splash screen showed Lightroom CC2015 instead of LR6.X. The support person insisted that this is ok although he could not explain why I have the dehaze function even though I am using a perpetual LR6 license which do not have this feature. He said that if I am on a trial CC version, there will be a countdown time. In this aspect, he was right and since it this upgrade was done 2 days ago, there was no count down when I launch LR.
I am still not sure what will happen in a year's time - would LR request for an annual subscription even though I do not have LR CC in my account status? I wonder if anyone has the same experience.
I had the exact same problem. Now the CC trial has expired and I can't use LR6. I am seriously pissed off, especially as I can't talk to someone about it by phone. Apparently there is no phone support for this product - WTF?
I am about to uninstall and reinstall LR6. This better work.
