I have a street scene drawn in Illustrator and I have brought all the separate layers into After Effects. I have made the layers 3D and I want to have the camera tool start from the very end of the street scene and come forward. It is drawn in perspective with the focal point on the far right.
Hmmm... That's going to be a fair bit more complicated than simply animating the camera.
In order to get an authentic perspective shift as you move the camera, you're going to have to project your layers onto 3D planes. There are two ways to do this that I know of:
The first is to use Photoshop's "Vanishing Point" feature, which has the ability to export an after effects project.
The second is to position planes in after effects, and use a light and materials setting to literally "project" the scene on to the planes.
As an alternative, you could redraw your scene using "orthographic" perspective for each layer and then assemble those layers in 3D Space in After Effects.
Maybe this will help: (it's the best I can do in traffic from my phone)
