The tag may need a missing library or something.
What, exact version of CF are you using and what is the link you used to download the tag?
Do you mean cfx_ExcelQuery in the OpenXCF project? Download the javacfx.jar (don't extract it) and put it anywhere in CF's class path such as ..
Register the CFX in the Administrator. I think you need to restart CF afterwards.
Administrator -> Extensions -> CFX Tags -> Register Java CFX
Tag Name - cfx_ExcelQuery
Class Name - net.sourceforge.openxcf.javacfx.ExcelQuery
Thanks - I thought it was supposed to work something like that but when it didn't work w/o extracting the .jar I tried that.
But I think what I was missing was the path to the classes directory wasn't in the class path when I tried initially (I had just assumed it was).
I'll start over and let you know.
MikerRoo - Thanks for the response. I was able to install successfully using the info provided by cfdev_2.
Installed successfully but am having problems w/ the tag itself - so I'll start a new thread on that.
What is Class Name : net.sourceforge in net.sourceforge.openxcf.javacfx.ExcelQuery?
It is the name of a java class inside the sourceforge jar file. It does the actual work when you call the custom tag: cfx_ExcelQuery.
I got this error:
Error processing CFX custom tag CFX_net.sourceforge.openxcf.javacfx.text2query.
The CFX custom tag CFX_net.sourceforge.openxcf.javacfx.text2query was not found in the custom tag database. You must add custom tags to the database before using them. If you have added your tag to the database, check the spelling of the tag within your template to ensure that it matches the database entry.

That is not the tag referred to in this thread. In any case, you already have an open thread on this. Better to stick to one thread, rather than re-opening a 2/3 year old one
