I've been playing with the Flex 2 SDK for a few days now, and
I have a few questions about developing stand-alone applications
(applications that aren't run through a web-browser plug-in). I saw
what I think are stand-alone versions of the Flash Player 9 for
both MacOS and Windows, but only the debugger versions. Are there
stand-alones available that don't include debugging features? Can I
package stand-alone players with my applications without violating
any software licenses? If I can, and only the debugging versions
are available, is there anything I should know before deploying
them with my apps?
Or is there a tool (either from Adobe or a third party) that
converts Flex 2 SWF files to projector executables for both Windows
What about embedding the Player ActiveX control in a Windows
Forms application using Visual Studio? That way you'd have a
stand-alone Flex app that's deployable using any of the .NET
deployment techniques (MSI, one click etc..).
