You can start by telling us exactly what you're talking about.
You can 'activate' software with your Adobe ID twice, so you have two activations (but officialy you are not allowed to use two at the same time).
If you need to activate your account on a third computer you will have to deactivate it on one that is in use first.
If you need more than two activations you need a second Creative Cloud account and ofcourse have to pay again.

I'm pretty sure you're not talking about InDesign which is what this forum is forum. InDesign is a page layout program running on Mac and Windows.

Ah, that is a very different thing! I assume you use Adobe Digital Editions? Every new tablet has to be 'activated' for Digital Editions in order to read books with protection, make sure you 'unlink' ADE and your account first on previous tablets.
