The first thing I would try is to put the catalog you want to import on a local disk, instead of using WiFi
Would you please try to import from another catalog which is stored on local computer.
If that is a valid catalog, you can copy the catalog on an external drive and then try to import.
Please let us know if you still face any issues.
Thanks for replying. I can do that, but then I will also have to copy over all the photos as well as the catalog. And when I open the catalog on the new location, I'm guessing all the photo files be missing and I will have to find them again? It's quite a long process.
So it's impossible to import via wifi?
I have never tried to import via Wifi, nor have I read about anyone trying it. So, you get to be the experimenter!
Yes, you will have to reconnect the photos. This shouldn't be a long process, it ought to be basically one menu command, in Lightroom go to the top level folder that contains these photos and then right-click on it and select Find Missing Folder.
Its not impossible but its not recommended at all.
As suggested by dj_paige, Its not going to be a long process and you can easily locate your images by just one click.
Well it's as good as impossible. I get a message saying the Catalog is not valid or something (it is). It won't import using a thunderbolt cable either. But if I go through the slightly long-winded process of copying it (along with all the accompanying photo files) to an external drive, then to the second computer's hard drive, I can import it. I won't the throwing away those cables just yet then.
